Build a palette that feels like you
Follow your taste before you ask what looks good together.
Personal style is not a test with a correct answer. It can begin with noticing what you return to. Make a small palette for the version of you that is here today, with no requirement to keep it forever.
Colored pencils or paint; scraps of colored paper also work.
Step 01
Choose five colors
Think of places, clothes, books, or objects you love. Pick five colors from those memories. Let one unexpected choice stay.
Step 02
Give them different amounts
Make five swatches. Try a generous area of one color and a tiny accent of another. Notice which combinations you want to look at longer.
Step 03
Name it in your own words
Give the palette a name like “A rainy Saturday” or “A little louder.” Use one color somewhere small this week: a notebook page, a photo, or an outfit detail.
Which choice felt like yours before you imagined anyone else seeing it?
Make it smaller
Choose two colors you would like to see together and write down where you spotted them.
There is no required feeling at the end. If a prompt feels uncomfortable, pause, change it, or skip it.
