Close the day with a paper ritual

Give unfinished thoughts a place to rest for the evening.

A day can end while your thoughts keep moving. This simple paper ritual creates a visible stopping point. It does not have to solve what happened today; it just offers a way to set a few things down.

What you will need
One small sheet of paper and a pen.

Step 01

Make three small spaces

Divide the page into three loose sections. Label them “Something I carried,” “Something I noticed,” and “Something for tomorrow.”

Step 02

Use marks or words

Add a few words, a shape, or a color to each section. Keep private details off the page if that feels better. You may leave any section blank.

Step 03

Fold and finish

Fold the page and put it in your notebook. Choose a simple next action, such as getting a glass of water or putting away your materials. The page can wait.

A moment to reflect

What can remain unfinished tonight without needing more attention right now?

Make it smaller

Write one thing you would like to return to tomorrow, then close the notebook.

There is no required feeling at the end. If a prompt feels uncomfortable, pause, change it, or skip it.
